lesson 6 - Post & Pre installation


Pre-installation:


Pre-installation is the steps that a user applys before installing a software.

Windows XP Pre-Installation:

  • Insert Windows XP installation CD into the PC.
  • Restart the PC and click on the suitable key that brings up the boot menu.
  • Select “Boot from CD” option and then press on any key to continue the booting process
  • Click on the “Enter” key and then the “F8” key.

Post installation:

Post installation are the steps that you should do to continue and manage the installation process.


Post installation:
Post installation is group of actions or options that should be done after the installing a software.
Steps:
  • Set the Root Password.
  • Set the Timezone.
  • Adding Users.
  • Setting the Host Name.
  • Changing Keyboard Layouts.
  • Installing Software Packages.
